Baby Scimitar-oryx born Sunday, August 29 to Lorraine. This is Lorraine's 5th baby at Brevard Zoo. The baby can be seen by riding the train through Expedition Africa. We are still unsure of the sex of the baby.

Alligator Snapping Turtle Now on Exhibit

Brevard Zoo has opened a new Alligator Snapping Turtle exhibit in Wild Florida. Capone, our alligator snapping turtle, is roughly 44 years old and over 60 pounds!

Teacher Open House

Brevard Zoo invites teachers to attend the 14th annual Teacher Open House Thursday, September 2 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Zoo. Teachers can experience hands-on animals, visit with exhibitors from Central Florida, preview upcoming teacher education opportunities, receive informational handouts and freebies, win door prizes, and enjoy complimentary food provided by the Zoo.

Have Fun at the Environmental Learning Center

Plan a trip this summer to the Environmental Learning Center in Vero Beach. The Center just opened a new touch tank featuring critters found in the Indian River Lagoon. Just like our touch tank in Paws On here at the Zoo, the whole family can get up close and personal with Lagoon animals.

Free Admission into the Zoo this Summer

Once again this summer, the Zoo will offer free admission into the Zoo every Saturday night in July and August. Come beat the summertime heat during our annual Summer Saturday Nights, which starts July 3 and runs every Saturday night through August 28. Free admission begins at 5 p.m.
