Tips for a Great Visit

Global Warming

Global warming is real and a threat to the world's animal population. The year 2004 was the fourth hottest on record, extending a trend since 1990. If we continue to emit greenhouse gases at our current pace, our earth's temperature is projected to skyrocket by as much as 10º F in the next 100 years.

Use compact fluorescent lights rather than incandescent. They cost more but save you money down the road and conserve energy.

Dining at BZ

Satisfy your hunger from an impressive list of meals, snacks and refreshments at the Flamingo Café and Whale's Tail--all at extremely reasonable prices. The Zoo also serves Dippin’ Dots ice cream. The Flamingo Café and Whale's Tail are open daily from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but times may change. Please note that the Zoo does not permit outside food or drink into the park. However, picnic tables are available outside of the park for you to use.

Panther’s Paw Gift Shop offers a variety of children’s toys, t-shirts, hats, artwork and souvenirs for you or to give as a gift to someone special. Consider the Zoo’s gift shop when buying presents for birthdays and holidays. Panther's Paw opens at 10 a.m.
