Global Warming

Global warming is real and a threat to the world's animal population. The year 2004 was the fourth hottest on record, extending a trend since 1990. If we continue to emit greenhouse gases at our current pace, our earth's temperature is projected to skyrocket by as much as 10º F in the next 100 years.

Use compact fluorescent lights rather than incandescent. They cost more but save you money down the road and conserve energy.

“Wildlife Conservation through Education & Participation”…

It’s more than just a slogan at Brevard Zoo! Brevard Zoo actively supports endangered and threatened wildlife and the wild places they inhabit throughout the globe. Projects supported include sea turtle research, marine mammal rescue, Monofilament Recycling Program, Scrub Jay research and more right here in Brevard County as well as numerous projects throughout Africa and South America focusing on great apes, jaguars, rhinos and other species of concern. Why do we do it? Because we believe that every zoo, large or small, can make a difference!
