Zoo Academy

The Zoo Academy consists of two education programs, Zoo Tots (for ages 2 to 4) and Jr. Zoo Crew (for ages 5 to 12) and parent educators. Class curriculum are presented in a fun, engaging, and educational way with many hands-on lessons that meet national educational standards. Classes are structured to guide parent educators and students through exciting lessons and activities in a very interactive way. Participants will apply critical thinking skills by examining exhibits, animal collections, biofacts, photographs, and much more. Every class will focus on a particular topic and feature both special animal encounters and a guided Zoo excursion! Zoo admission before or after program is not included in the program cost.

Toddler Programs / Zoo Tots

Brevard Zoo’s toddler programs / zoo tots provide enriching opportunities for children ages 2 to 4 to experience nature in a safe, healthy, and happy environment. Our goal is to nurture the physical, social, emotional and intellectual growth of each child within a respectful, creative, and caring atmosphere. Your toddler will delight in teaching you to get dirty while experiencing nature through crafts, activities, play centers, animal visitors, and guided Zoo excursions. We offer classes on Saturdays as well as during the week.

Jr. Zoo Crew / Homeschool

Jr. Zoo Crew offers a unique opportunity for homeschool families to enjoy the Zoo, explore interesting and current topics in science, conservation and experience animals up close with private encounters. Each module is themed and consists of four classes. Please note, a parent educator must register as a participant along with student participants.
