Education programs are adapted to accommodate the grade level of participants. Program curriculum with Sunshine State Standards is available upon request. All programs listed are available onsite or can be scheduled at any location unless otherwise noted.
Learning comes easy when children's imaginations are sparked by a Brevard Zoo visit. Let science come to life with the use of live animals, animal artifacts, and enthusiastic instructors. Choose from any of the following programs:
Preschool Programs
Crazy Critter Coats--What would life be like to have skin covered with big, thick scales or
even slime? Discover the crazy world of animal coverings, coats and skins in this active and
educational program.
Wiggly Wonders--Everything moves--from ants to zebras! Explore biomechanics through the use
of puppetry and hands-on animals.
Kindergarten - Grade 3
Backyard Buddies--Florida's unique climate offers a diverse collection of habitats that support
incredible and unusual animals. Meet and uncover the secrets to surviving in the swamp, the
scrub and the sand. Be amazed at what is lurking in our backyards.
Reptiles Rule--Our reptilian friends slither their way into the classroom to give students a close
encounter of the scaled kind. Gain an appreciation for these cold-blooded creatures and their
significance in the web of life during this hands-on educational experience.
Grades 1-8
African Safari --Journey through the "Dark Continent" without leaving Florida and explore the
varied habitats of this amazing continent using live animals and biofacts.
Animalia--This program offers an exciting look into the world of animals. Let learning come to life
through the use of live animals and biofacts as students discover the differences among
invertebrates, fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds, and mammals.
Rainforest Secrets--Rainforests are the most diverse ecosystems on our planet. Experience the
wonders of the tropical rainforest with some very special zoo friends.
Australia Uncovered--How do Australian animals survive in the driest and flattest inhabited
continent in the world? Explore why Australia has more endangered species than any other
continent, and how modern zoos help in the preservation of these species.
Amazing Adaptations--How did the giraffe get a long neck? Why does a porcupine have quills? Is
it all about survival of the fittest or just a quirk of nature? You decide during this engaging and
thought-provoking program.
Grades 6-12
Conservation Connection--Find out how individuals can make a difference in wildlife
conservation.
Florida Fossil History--Over the past nine million years, the state of Florida has undergone many
climatic changes that have altered the biodiversity of our state. Explore the rich prehistoric world
of this unique peninsula and get a hands-on the biodiversity of our state.

Planning a Field Trip
How to Register
To register for a program please call the Education Registrar at 321.254.9453 x 219. Groups must register at least two weeks in advance for all visits, programs and activities. Fall and spring programs fill quickly, so please register early! Programs require a minimum of 15 people. Programs can accommodate up to 35 people.
Confirmation
A letter of confirmation with all the details of the booked program will be mailed after registration. You must retain a copy of the letter for your records and present it upon arrival at the Zoo to facilitate the group's admission. If there will be more than one class visiting the Zoo please be sure to distribute confirmation information to all teachers.
Late Arrivals
Due to the popularity of our programs, we may not be able to accommodate your group upon late arrival. Please make every effort to call the Zoo at 321.254.9453 x 219 or x 210 if your group will be late. We do our best to accommodate late arrivals, but reserve the right to cancel or adjust program length depending on staff availability.
