Learning comes easy when children's imaginations are sparked by a Brevard Zoo visit. The Zoo offers distinct and unique wildlife habitats for your class to discover. Enhance their experience with one of our Discovery Stations or educational classroom programs. Science will come to life through hands-on activities, animal artifacts, the use of live animals and enthusiastic instructors. Brevard Zoo’s Expedition to La Florida
Discover Florida through the eyes of Juan Ponce de Leon and the Conquistadors of 1513. Come celebrate Ponce de Leon’s landing in the New World with us during all of 2013 and make Florida’s history come alive with First Encounters: When America, Europe & Africa First Meet. The focus at the Zoo comes from the section Two Worlds Meet: Animals from the Old World and the New, by our very own Andrew Batten. Highlights at the Zoo include self-guided tour of animal exhibits that complement the booklet and a full range of pre and post trip activities that meet the standards listed below.

Wild Florida: Past, Present and Future, an Art of Sand exhibit, opens President’s Day weekend (and remains open through Memorial Day). Guests to Brevard Zoo can take their walk on the wild side to new depths of art and history as they traverse a ¼-mile trail taking in 13 incredible sand sculptures carved into the native landscape of Brevard Zoo. Created by eight international sand sculptors, this exhibit shares the Florida story – tracing the history of wildlife and humans on our peninsula. Hear the sounds of a time gone by as you view these breathtaking artistic and historical sculptures - just in time to commemorate the 500th anniversary of Ponce de Leon’s first exploration of North America. This exhibit has a separate admission price. Standards listed below can possibly be incorporated into curriculum based on the artist’s rendering of individual sculptures and subject to interpretation.
