Global warming is real and a threat to the world's animal population. The year 2004 was the fourth hottest on record, extending a trend since 1990. If we continue to emit greenhouse gases at our current pace, our earth's temperature is projected to skyrocket by as much as 10º F in the next 100 years.

Outdoor Adventure Tour

Brevard Zoo offers birding tours, nature hikes, and kayaking trips around the area. Places explored depend on the tour but include Samson's Island near Satellite Beach Fire Station on the Banana River; Pine Island at the Pine Island Conservation Area on Merritt Island; Haulover Canal at Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge in Titusville; and, Viera Wetlands near Wickham and I95 in Viera.

Explore Central Florida's best wild places! Choose three different locations, each featuring a variety of animals and habitats.

Birding Trips
Join zoo naturalists for birding trips just minutes from the zoo! Visit beautiful sites providing a home to hundreds of species of birds as well as other wildlife. Some of the local wildlife include migrating birds, white-tailed deer, and alligators!

Kayaking Trips
Paddle around the local waterways and enjoy up-close encounters with a variety of wildlife including pelican, osprey, eagle, roseate spoonbill and reddish egret. A trained naturalist from the Zoo will guide you through pristine areas. Guests may also encounter manatee, dolphin, sea turtles, horseshoe crabs, and more, depending on the tours!
