Global Warming

Global warming is real and a threat to the world's animal population. The year 2004 was the fourth hottest on record, extending a trend since 1990. If we continue to emit greenhouse gases at our current pace, our earth's temperature is projected to skyrocket by as much as 10º F in the next 100 years.

"Use compact fluorescent lights rather than incandescent. They cost more but save you money down the road and conserve energy."

Outdoor Adventure Tour

Brevard Zoo offers birding tours, nature hikes, and kayaking trips around the area. Places explored depend on the tour but include Samson's Island near Satellite Beach Fire Station on the Banana River; Pine Island at the Pine Island Conservation Area on Merritt Island; Haulover Canal at Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge in Titusville.
