By reusing many of the products already created--such as aluminum, glass, paper, and plastic--we can reduce energy consumption.

Jr. Zookeeper Program

The Jr. Zookeeper program is recommended for youth ages 10 to 12 who are interested in animals and the environment. Activities are offered on the second Saturday of every month. Each activity will focus on a different topic and lasts about 90 minutes. Participants will receive a pin at the end to add to their Jr. Keeper badge. Jr. Keepers are supervised by Zoo education staff during these events. Collect as many pins as you can! Activities may include:

--Enrichment Workshops (making toys/treats for the animals)
--Assisting with conservation projects
--Special animal talks
--Treasure hunts in the Zoo
--Behind the scenes tours
--Crafts and Games
--Much more!

How do I get started?
Initial enrollment into the Jr. Keeper program is $5 and includes a badge. Enrollment can be done through the education department. Jr. Keepers are invited to attend any event of their choice. Cost for each event is $5 and does not include Zoo admission. To enroll and sign up for events, please contact the registrar office at edregistrar@brevardzoo.org or call 321.254.9453 x 219. Reservations are non-refundable.

Events are held in the Education building. Parent signature is required to attend.
