Feed the giraffes at the giraffe platform in Expedition Africa. Treats are $2. Cape to Cairo Express train rideRide the rails past the Australian aviary and around Lemur Island; cost $3 for ages 2 and up. A portion of each ride benefits the Zoo's conservation programs. The train ride is approximately 10 minutes. KayakingBrevard Zoo offers guided kayaking tours. Choose a guided kayaking tour through Expedition Africa. Cost is $6 per person. No children under the age of 5 can kayak, and children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult in the kayak with them. All participants must sign a waiver in order to kayak. For children under the age of 16, only a signed waiver will be accepted from a parent, grandparent, or legal guardian. Paddle BoatsBrevard Zoo now offers self-guided paddle boat rides through our restored wetlands in Wild Florida at the Wetland Outpost daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tours are on the half-hour and cost is $15 a boat for non-members, up to four people. Cost for Zoo-members is $12. All participants must sign a waiver in order to paddle boat. For children under the age of 16, only a parent, grandparent, or legal guardian can sign a waiver. La Selva Zookeeper Talks Rhino EncountersMeet one of the Zoo's rhinos up close and personal. These encounters are offered daily (contingent on weather and rhinos) from 12 to 1 p.m. at a cost of $15 per person, $10 per person for Zoo members. Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied with an adult. Purchase tickets beforehand at Kayak Beach. Each tour lasts about 20 minutes. Wild Encounters Tours, Destination AfricaThis unparalleled adventure takes visitors off the boardwalk on an awe-inspiring education hour getting up close and personal with some of the Zoo’s most charismatic animal residents such as Melvin, a masai giraffe, or Howard, one of our white rhinos. Guests learn the intricacies involved in keeping these beautiful creatures conditioned, healthy and mentally-enriched, and will explore first-hand how the Zoo’s skilled keepers utilize their training to interact with the animals. Reservations required. Tours offered on Saturdays and Sundays at 12 noon. Cost is $75 per person and includes Zoo admission and a souvenir. Zoo members receive a $10 discount. Zoo members can purchase this package for just $6 per person. Wild Explorer’s PackageIncludes Zoo admission, a choice of kayaking Wild Florida or Expedition Africa, and giraffe and lorikeet feedings. Children under 5 are not permitted to kayak and children under 13 must be accompanied by an adult. A signed waiver is required. Cost is $21 for adults, $20 for seniors, and $17 for children. |
